Daisy Flower | Nail Art Tutorial

Want to know how to create this daisy flower nail look? Follow our 5 step nail art tutorial below!

The products we used to create this look:

Nail varnish and nail art tools

1. Super Mani 7 in 1 Treatment – Barry M
2. 60 Seconds Super Shine – Rimmel London – Chin Up Buttercup
3. French Manicure – Essence – Girl’s Best French
4. 60 Seconds Super Shine – Rimmel London – White Hot Love
5. Dotting Tool
6.  Flat Drawing Brush
7. Yellow Gem

Now lets show you how we created this daisy flower nail art!

Barry M base nail polish, nail art tutorial

STEP 1

First of all it is important to make sure your nails are clean and ready to be painted before we start, so we need to do a little bit of preparation. If you have nail polish on already, you will need to take it off with some nail polish remover. After this is done, I usually wash my hands just to ensure my nails are completely clean.

Then it’s time to tidy your nails up a little and to shape them to how you want, using with your file. Also, if you want make your nails appear longer – you can push back your cuticles. If you place your hand in some warm water for a few minutes, it will help soften your skin making it easier for you to do this.

Once you are ready, you should apply a base coat to your nail as this will protect your nails from being stained but also will make applying your nail polish much smoother. We used the Super Mani 7 in 1 Treatment (1) to do this.

STEP 2

Once your base coat is dry, we can start moving on to the more exciting parts – deciding what colour you want your nails to be! For this look, we decided to have the ring finger as the main focus so we painted this nail with the nail polish in the colour Girl’s Best French (3), and the rest with the bright nail polish in the colour Chin Up Buttercup (2). We applied 2 coats of the nail polish as this makes sure the nails are covered well.

We recommend you apply two thin coats rather than one thick one as the thicker the coat, the longer it will take to dry.

STEP 3

Once the nail polish is dry, it’s time to start creating this daisy nail art! Firstly, we started by painting on a small dot using the dotting tool (5) with the nail varnish in the colour Chin Up Buttercup (2). We painted the first one towards the bottom of the nail to help later on with placements of the other flowers.

After you have painted on the dot for the middle of the daisy, next it’s time to start painting on the petals! To paint on long thin petals, we used the flat drawing brush (6) (this brush makes it nice and easy to do this!) with the nail polish in the colour White Hot Love (4).

* Watch out for the nail polish building up on the brush while you are painting on the daisies petals. This may make petals thicker than others so it is a good idea to clean the brush now and then along the way.

STEP 4

After you have painted on the first flower, you want to repeat the previous step to create other daisies on the nail. Make sure you start by painting on the dot first to help with the placement of the flowers, this will also make sure you don’t paint them too close.

STEP 5

Now it’s time to add the final touches to this daisy nail look! After you have finished painting on the rest of the daisies and you are happy with your look – apply a top coat to all the nails and then gently apply the Yellow Gems (7) on the yellow dot in the middle of the daisies to add that extra bit of glam to this look!

And that’s how we created this daisy nail look! It’s a gorgeous nail look for your nails that is perfect for everyday wear!

I absolutely love this nail art! I struggle so much with making my nails look nice, I love the yellow colour and the daisy flowers though, so so pretty such a lovely spring look, if I did this as perfect as you have I would probably take like 50 pictures of them haha! Thanks for sharing, and making the steps so easy to follow too!

Thank you so much! 🙂 It definitely does take a bit of work to learn how to paint your nails nicely, a lot of trial and error. It’s a really pretty colour, isn’t it?! It’s not something I would usually go for before creating this look as I don’t usually wear nail polish that bright but this one totally changed my mind about them! It looked so pretty on the nails, and really is a gorgeous colour. It’ll look so pretty in the summer too as well as the spring! Haha, you should see the amount of pictures it takes to get the ‘right’ one 😛 I’m so happy to hear you thought it was easy to follow, thank you for stopping by 🙂

Thank you! I was actually surprised with how well the petals came out to be honest, haha. To be honest, I didn’t think I was either and I don’t usually wear bright colours like this one! When I picked this one up a few weeks ago, I was a bit unsure of how much use I’d get out of it, but I really needed a yellow colour like this in my collection so I risked it. Once I tried this one though, I love it! It is quite bright but it looks really pretty on the nails and is perfect to go for a look like this! 🙂

The daisy flower art is gorgeous and perfect for the season! I love how perfect you made the daisies. The pattern is great where it looks consistent! The gems in the middle of the daisies make a HUGE difference. You’re great with the creativity!

Thank you so much! I was really proud of how good the daisies came out 😀 I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I don’t really like things if they feel odd and out of place, I like things to be consistent haha. Oh, yeah they do! It is a nice look without the gems, but it definitely adds a little extra glam to the look 🙂
