Flowers & Dots | Nail Art

Want to know how to create this flowers & dots nail look? Follow our 6 step guide below!

The products we used to create this look:

Nail varnish and nail art tools

1. Vitamin Base Coat – Natural Collection
2. 60 Seconds Super Shine – Rimmel London – Peachella
3. 7 Day Wear Nail Polish – Collection – White Out
4. 7 Day Wear Nail Polish – Collection – Lemon Meringue
5. Dotting Tool

Now lets show you how we created this flowers & dots nail art!

Flowers & dots nail art, Spring nail art, everyday nail art, base coat nail varnish

STEP 1

First of all it is important to make sure your nails are clean and ready to be painted before we start, so we need to do a little bit of preparation. If you have nail varnish on already, you will need to take it off with some nail varnish remover. After this is done, I usually wash my hands just to ensure my nails are completely clean.

Then it’s time to tidy your nails up a little and to shape them to how you want, using with your file. Also, if you want make your nails appear longer – you can push back your cuticles. If you place your hand in some warm water for a few minutes, it will help soften your skin making it easier for you to do this.

Once you are ready, you should apply a base coat to your nail as this will protect your nails from being stained but also will make applying your nail varnish much smoother. We used the Vitamin Base Coat (1) to do this.

STEP 2

Once your base coat is dry (this shouldn’t take too long), we can start moving on to the more exciting parts – deciding what colour you want your nails to be! For this look, we decided to have the ring finger as the main focus so we painted this nail with the white (3) nail varnish, and the rest with the gorgeous nail varnish in the colour Peachella (2). We applied 2 coats of the nail varnish as this makes sure the nails are covered well.

We recommend you apply two thin coats rather than one thick one as the thicker the coat, the longer it will take to dry.

STEP 3

Once the white nail varnish is dry, it’s time to start creating the flowers & dots nail art! Firstly – we need to plan where we want the flowers to be on the ring finger nail. To do this, we placed small dots with the dotting tool (5) with the nail varnish in the colour Lemon Meringue (4).

STEP 4

Once you are happy with where the flowers are going to be – it’s time to add the petals! To do this, we used the dotting tool (5) to paint them on with the nail varnish in the colour Peachella (2).

STEP 5

Next, we decided to add a little bit more to this nail look by painting on yellow and white dots on the little finger nail. To do this, we used the dotting tool (5) with the yellow (4) and white (3) nail varnish.

* This nail look is gorgeous with just the flowers so you could leave it there if you wanted to.

STEP 6

Now it’s time to add the final touch to the look! We painted on the dots on the rest of the nails using the dotting tool (5) with the yellow (4) and white (3) nail varnish.

And that’s how we created this flower & dots nail look! It’s a gorgeous look for your nails this spring! Perfect for everyday wear!

This design is so cute and actually looks really simple to recreate! I used to paint designs on my nails all the time, but now I am way too impatient to let everything dry! But maybe in the Summer, I’ll try these out!

Haha, yeah – the hardest bit is having to wait for it to dry! I usually try and work on something else that won’t risk damaging my nails to try and pass the time if I can 😛 thank you so much! It is pretty simply to re-create, we’d love to see a picture if you do paint this look on your nails! 😀

I wasn’t the hugest fan of orange, but I love this shade – it looks so pretty on the nails! You can easily paint this look with so many different colours, and it would look so pretty 🙂
