Now lets show you how we created this pumpkin nail art!

Pumpkin nail art, Halloween nails, base coat nail varnish, easy nail art

STEP 1

First of all it is important to make sure your nails are clean and ready to be painted before we start, so we need to do a little bit of preparation. If you have nail varnish on already, you will need to take it off with some nail varnish remover. After this is done, I usually wash my hands just to ensure my nails are completely clean.

Then it’s time to tidy your nails up a little and to shape them to how you want, using with your file. Also, if you want make your nails appear longer – you can push back your cuticles. If you place your hand in some warm water for a few minutes, it will help soften your skin making it easier for you to do this.

Once you are ready, you should apply a base coat to your nail as this will protect your nails from being stained but also will make applying your nail varnish much smoother. We used the Vitamin Base Coat (1) to do this.

STEP 2

Once your base coat is dry, we can start moving on to the more exciting parts – deciding what colour you want your nails to be! For this look, we decided to have the ring finger as the main focus so we painted this nail with the nail varnish in the colour Black Forest (3), and the rest with the nail varnish in the colour Lux Lobster (2). We applied 2 coats of the nail varnish as this makes sure the nails are covered well.

We recommend you apply two thin coats rather than one thick one as the thicker the coat, the longer it will take to dry.

STEP 3

After waiting for the black nail varnish to dry on the ring finger nail, we applied a coat of the Matte Top Coat (4).

STEP 4

Once the matte coat is dry, it’s time to start creating this pumpkin nail art! The first thing we need to do is paint on an outline of a pumpkin! To do this, we used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail varnish in the colour Lux Lobster (2).

STEP 5

Once you are happy with the shape, it’s time to carefully fill in the outline with the nail varnish in the colour Lux Lobster (2).

STEP 6

To give the orange nail varnish some time to dry before we add more detail to the pumpkin, we decided to paint on the stalk. To do this, we used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail varnish in the colour Loosey Goosey Dancin (5).

STEP 7

Once the orange nail varnish is dry, we can start adding the detail to the pumpkin! The first thing we did was add a little bit of definition to it by painting on 3 thin lines – one in the middle, one on the right and then one on the left. To do this, we used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail varnish in the colour Mocha (4).

You could finish the look here if you didn’t want to add a spooky face to the pumpkin, it still looks gorgeous like this!

STEP 8

Now it’s time to start creating the spooky face! Firstly, we started with painting on the eyes. To do this, we used the dotting tool (8) with the nail varnish in the colour Black Forest (3).

STEP 9

After you have painted on the eyes, it’s time to paint on the nose. To do this, we used the dotting tool (8) with the nail varnish in the colour Black Forest (3).

STEP 10

Next it’s time to paint on the mouth! To make it easier to shape it, we firstly painted on a line to plan out where the mouth will be. To do this, we used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail varnish in the colour Black Forest (2).

STEP 11

Now it’s time to add the final touches to this pumpkin nail art – creating the shape to the mouth! To do this, used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail varnish in the colour Black Forest (2).

And that’s how we created this pumpkin nail look! It’s the perfect Halloween nail look for your nails!

Haha, yeah – thinking about it, I think I’ve only worn it around Halloween 😛 I think it’s a bit too bright for me personally to wear normally, for an everyday kind of look but it’s perfect for this kind of look! I’m so glad to hear you love the look – thank you so much! ❤

Absolutely perfect for Halloween! I reckon I could pull off doing the pumpkin on my left hand, but my right hand always ends up a mess because I’m right handed! Any tips?!

Thank you! This nail polish is perfect for this season and a pumpkin nail look 🙂 oh I know what you mean, it can be trickier to do it on your dominant hand. I find it easiest just taking it slow and being patient. Try not to worry too much if you do mess up, because you can go back and fix it. With small detailed areas, it sometimes can be easier to use a dotting tool rather then the small brushes as personally I feel a bit more in control there without having to worry about the brush doing it’s own thing, haha. Also, stencils can make it easier to do certain shapes to start it off with, for example – the shape of the pumpkin. If I think of anything else, I’ll let you know 🙂

So cute for this time of year! I’d be totally afraid of orange polish and wouldn’t have a clue what to do with it. Don’t think I’d be able to do the pumpkin though! x
