Now lets show you how we created this pumpkin nail art!

step 1

First of all it is important to make sure your nails are clean and ready to be painted before we start, so we need to do a little bit of preparation. If you have nail polish on already, you will need to take it off with some nail polish remover. After this is done, I usually wash my hands just to ensure my nails are completely clean.

Then it’s time to tidy your nails up a little and to shape them to how you want, using with your file. Also, if you want make your nails appear longer – you can push back your cuticles. If you place your hand in some warm water for a few minutes, it will help soften your skin making it easier for you to do this.

Once you are ready, you should apply a base coat to your nail as this will protect your nails from being stained but also will make applying your nail polish much smoother. We used the Vitamin Base Coat (1) to do this.

step 2

Once your base coat is dry, we can start moving on to the more exciting parts – deciding what colour you want your nails to be! For this look, we decided to have the ring finger as the main focus so we painted this nail with the nail polish in the colour Black Forest (3), and the rest with the nail polish in the colour Lux Lobster (2). We applied 2 coats of the nail polish as this makes sure the nails are covered well.

We recommend you apply two thin coats rather than one thick one as the thicker the coat, the longer it will take to dry.

step 3

After waiting for the black nail polish to dry on the ring finger nail, we applied a coat of the Matte Top Coat (4).

step 4

Once the matte coat is dry, it’s time to start creating this pumpkin nail art! The first thing we need to do is paint on an outline of a pumpkin! To do this, we used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail polish in the colour Lux Lobster (2).

step 5

Once you are happy with the shape, it’s time to carefully fill in the outline with the nail polish in the colour Lux Lobster (2).

step 6

To give the orange nail polish some time to dry before we add more detail to the pumpkin, we decided to paint on the stalk. To do this, we used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail polish in the colour Loosey Goosey Dancin (5).

step 7

Once the orange nail polish is dry, we can start adding the detail to the pumpkin! The first thing we did was add a little bit of definition to it by painting on 3 thin lines – one in the middle, one on the right and then one on the left. To do this, we used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail polish in the colour Mocha (4).

You could finish the look here if you didn’t want to add a spooky face to the pumpkin, it still looks gorgeous like this!

step 8

Now it’s time to start creating the spooky face! Firstly, we started with painting on the eyes. To do this, we used the dotting tool (8) with the nail polish in the colour Black Forest (3).

step 9

After you have painted on the eyes, it’s time to paint on the nose. To do this, we used the dotting tool (8) with the nail polish in the colour Black Forest (3).

step 10

Next it’s time to paint on the mouth! To make it easier to shape it, we firstly painted on a line to plan out where the mouth will be. To do this, we used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail polish in the colour Black Forest (2).

Now it’s time to add the final touches to this pumpkin nail art – creating the shape to the mouth! To do this, used the pointed drawing brush (7) with the nail polish in the colour Black Forest (2).
