Now lets show you how we created this look!

First of all it is important to make sure your nails are clean and ready to be painted before we start, so we need to do a little bit of preparation. If you have nail varnish on already, you will need to take it off with some nail varnish remover. After this is done, I usually wash my hands just to just to ensure my nails are completely clean.

Then it’s time to tidy your nails up a little and shape them to how you want them with your file. If you want make your nails appear longer you can push back your cuticles. If you place your hand in some warm water for a few minutes, it will help soften your skin making it easier for you to do this.

Once you are ready, you should apply a base coat to your nail as this will protect your nails from being stained but also will make applying your nail varnish much smoother. We used the Vitamin Base Coat (1) to do this.

Once your base coat is dry (this shouldn’t take too long), we can start moving on to the more exciting parts – deciding what colour you want your nails to be! For this look, we decided to have the ring finger as the main focus so we painted that nail with the nail varnish in the colour French White (3), and the rest with the nail varnish in the colour Champagne Shimmer (2). We applied 2 coats as this made sure the nails were covered well. We recommend you apply two thin coats rather than one thick one as the thicker the coat, the longer it will take to dry!

Once the white nail varnish is dry, the real fun begins – time to start creating Rudolph! To create the colour of Rudolph’s face, we mixed together the nail varnishes in the colour Latte (4) and Mocha (5) to make that lovely colour! We then painted a thin line at a curve with the small pointed drawing brush (8).

After we created the outline, we then painted up to the line with the nail varnish that we had mixed together.

To give Rudolph’s face some time to dry, we decided to paint on the antlers next. We used the long pointed drawing brush (11) with the nail varnish in the colour Mocha (5) to paint the long lines, and then used the thinner side of the dotting pen (10) to paint on the little dots on the side of the antlers to finish creating them.

Once Rudolph’s face was dry, we began adding the facial features – starting with his famous red nose. To do this, we used the thicker side of the dotting tool (10) with the nail varnish in the colour Mulled Wine (6) to create that unforgettable nose!

Now to add some eyes to Rudolph’s face! We used the thicker side of the dotting pen (10) with the nail varnish in the colour French White (3) to draw on white dots, and then used the long pointed drawing brush (11) to shape them as you can see in the photo.

To finish the eyes, we used the thinner side of the dotting pen (10) with the nail varnish in the colour Blackjack (7) to add the pupils!

And lastly, the final touch – Rudolph needs some cute little ears! We painted on an ear either side of the antlers, using the long pointed drawing brush (11) with the nail varnish that we had made earlier in step 3. You may need to mix some together again if it’s dried, so just as a reminder – we mixed together the nail varnishes in the colour Latte (4) and Mocha (5) to create that lovely colour.

And that’s it! How cute is this Rudolph look?! Perfect for everyday wear with it getting closer to Christmas! So if you are getting into that Christmassy mood – why not have fun and paint this Rudolph look on your nails to show everyone!
