step 1

First of all it is important to make sure your nails are clean and ready to be painted before we start, so we need to do a little bit of preparation. If you have nail polish on already, you will need to take it off with some nail polish remover. After this is done, I usually wash my hands just to ensure my nails are completely clean.

Then it’s time to tidy your nails up a little and to shape them to how you want, using with your file. Also, if you want make your nails appear longer – you can push back your cuticles. If you place your hand in some warm water for a few minutes, it will help soften your skin making it easier for you to do this.

Once you are ready, you should apply a base coat to your nail as this will protect your nails from being stained but also will make applying your nail polish much smoother. We used the Vitamin Base Coat (1) to do this.

step 2

Once your base coat is dry (this shouldn’t take too long), we can start moving on to the more exciting parts – deciding what colour you want your nails to be! For this look, we decided to paint a French manicure first. To do this, we started with painting a thin coat of the sheer pink (2) nail polish.

* You only want to paint one thin coat as it is meant to just help smooth out the colouring of your nails. You could also paint a top coat on your nails instead.

step 3

Once the pink nail polish is dry, it’s time to finish creating the French manicure look! To do this, we painted a white tip on the end of the nail using the white (3) nail polish with the small pointed drawing brush (8).

* As you have only painted a thin coat on of the pink nail polish, you should be able to see where the white tips of your nails to help you create the shape.

step 4

Now you need to continue painting on the white tips on the rest of the nails to finish creating the French manicure part of the nail look.

step 5

Once you have finished painting on the French manicure, it’s time to add that little bit extra to this look – some cute little flowers! We started with painting the darker pink flower on the nail first by using the nail polish in the colour Ring A Ring O’Roses (4) with the dotting tool (9).

We then painted the lighter pink flower next to it, but also made it look like it was slightly behind the darker pink flower. To do this, we used the nail polish in the colour Fit For A Princess (5) with the dotting tool (9).

step 6

After you have finished painting on the flowers, we need to paint on some small green leaves. To do this, we used the nail polish in the colour Ice (6) with the dotting tool (10).

step 7

Once you have finished painting on the flowers on the ring finger nail, it’s time to add the last bit of detail to these flowers! We painted a top coat over the nail and gently applied a single piece of silver glitter (7) in the middle of the flowers.

Also, we painted a single flower using the dotting tool (9) with the nail polish in the colour Ring A Ring O’Roses (4) on the index finger nail.

step 8

After you finished painting on the single flower on the index finger nail, we need to paint on some small green leaves next to this flower too! To do this, we used the nail polish in the colour Ice (6) with the dotting tool (10).

Now it’s time to add the final touch to this French manicure & flowers nail look! We painted a top coat over the index finger nail and gently applied a single piece of silver glitter (7) in the middle of the flower.

And that’s how we created this French manicure & flowers nail look! It’s a gorgeous look for your nails this spring. Perfect for everyday wear and special occasions!
